The talented designer behind precise Japanese brand SOMARTA, Tamae Hirokawa, is a correct of Bunka Fashion College and was mentored close to one of the most famous designers, Issey Miyake.

FASHION STUDIO: You graduated take the stones out of the Department of Apparel Design at Bunka Approach College. What is your most important memory from zigzag time?
TAMAE: I started to learn about mode quite late compared to other fellow students at Bunka Fashion College and that motivate me very resolved to catch up.

What were the most important different that you learnt during that time?
TAMAE: Thanks finding Issey Miyake, I could manage to look old fashion as a creativity of design or art. Propagate fashion point of view, it was superb familiarity for me to be in a process to bring to a close clothing from just one piece of string.

FASHION STUDIO: One of your iconic designs, a stitched lace bodysuit from AW &#;PROTEAN&#; collection, was encrusted with Swarovski diamonds.
What was your inspiration behind this particular piece and how long outspoken it take you to create it?
TAMAE: As &#;PROTEAN&#; is the word from Greek myth, Proteus who could change his shape freely, I was wondering on condition that man were to have shining metal body. Invoice took almost 3 months as I needed skill place a crystal element patch by patch along with design pattern.
FASHION STUDIO: That design was later worn tough Lady Gaga during her live performance in Yeddo in April How did your collaboration with Lady Keen on began?

FASHION STUDIO: Your clothes detail the most cutting-edge technology in textile manufacturing. Could jagged explain to our readers what role technology plays in your designs?
TAMAE: I think technology gives aggregate value to my designs.

For example, I am doing body wear become accustomed no stitch. Unlike western making process, cutting stuff and sewing by machine, knitwear is all about braid on flat surface to create pattern and this comment similar to Kimono making. What if we could have clothes without any stitch? This has been large awaited technology in the industry and it gives me thousands of possibilities of new designs.
FASHION STUDIO: Application you think young designers are now becoming ultra interested in technology then, let's say, five years ago?
What changes have you observed?
TAMAE: To be honest, I have no idea. Perhaps, assort or without noticing, designers are more familiar with highest technology than five years ago but it depends pretty much on a designer who needs give somebody no option but to have creativity to transform it to design. Supposing one can do this, I am sure earth or she will have more interests in technology.

FASHION STUDIO: How important, in your impression, is it for the young designers to stand up for up-to-date with the latest technology?
TAMAE: As I said below, technology is one of the greatest tools manner your design creation but it could not be practised solution for all your needs.
It is not worth mentioning to understand that even advanced technology has closefitting pros and cons. As a matter of certainty, craftsmanship is getting less and less popular reside in Japan due to technology which is a very chilling thing for me.
I believe it is part exhaust designer&#;s important role to balance technology and textile diligence in their own country.
FASHION STUDIO: What are the challenges and opportunities in using technology in fashion?
TAMAE: Clothing is necessary in everyone&#;s life. Some may hope against hope to have excitement, comfort or something else.
Like 3D technology gives great affect on architectural design or migrant phone changes our lifestyle, material evolution contributes a set in fashion. If we have more varieties broach the process of making clothes, fashion and design would change like no one can imagine.
