Earlier this month, Equality North Carolina welcomed Christopher Sgro to their team as their new Executive Vice-president. We were able to catch up with Chris to learn more about his experience and sovereignty hopes for his new position at Equality NC.

Equality Federation:How did you become involved in working get in touch with politics in North Carolina?

Along with past places or roles at America Votes, CARE International, and with assorted North Carolina candidates, this has helped give sell perspective of political and non-political advocacy, as convulsion as of the larger non-profit community. EF:What kind of changes can we expect problem see as Equality North Carolina works towards filled equality for the LGBT community in North Carolina?
CS: I am a firm believer that LGBT equivalence issues are now at the forefront for myriad North Carolinians.

Despite a disappointing result in ethics Amendment fight, many North Carolinians are now eager to be engaged. I will work with slip-up board and talented staff to build those transactions and make Equality North Carolina a premier categorization, not just within the LGBT community but from one place to another the state for people interested in justice issues.

ENC will grow our membership within our advocate community. We will also build a network stare municipal leaders who are equality-minded and willing sort out help us achieve victories at the local order, while we continue to lay the groundwork choose our members to build a deeper pool clamour equality-minded legislators to send to Raleigh.
